A little history
"Ramen" in old Russian means a large timber forest, the kind ships were built from. That was the name of the area south-west of Moscow with the villages of Ramenki, Vorobyovo, Troitskoye-Golenishchevo and the settlement of Potylikha. In the 14th century the lands along the Setun belonged to the metropolitans of Moscow: at the confluence of the Ramenka and the Setun stood the house of Metropolitan Cyprian, who built a wooden church in Golenishchevo. Peter the Great took timber here for his fleet. In 1771 the plague devastated the area, and the former metropolitan's palace became a quarantine.
Industry and railways passed Ramenki by, so until the 20th century it was home to peasants and market gardeners: in 1902 Ramenki had 441 inhabitants. After the revolution it was part of the Kuntsevo district of the Moscow region, and only with the city's growth and the construction of Moscow State University on the Vorobyovy Hills did the area become part of Moscow. The modern Ramenki district was formed in 1997 by merging the Ramenki and Mosfilmovsky districts. The 2021 census counted 150,700 residents, and Rosstat's estimate for 1 January 2025 is already 154,300: Ramenki keeps growing thanks to new blocks on Michurinsky Prospekt and in Ramensky Park. It is home to Moscow State University, the Mosfilm studios, 16 embassy compounds and the Church of the Holy Trinity in Troitskoye-Golenishchevo, whose history goes back to the 16th century.

An important feature of the district: Ramenki is assigned to the Nikulinsky court only in part. Federal Law No. 88-FZ of 2 July 2003 gave it "part of the territory of the Ramenki district". Before filing a claim, check the address with the "Territorial jurisdiction" service on mos-gorsud.ru.
Typical cases of district residents
Ramenki is a district of new developments and embassies, of the university and of the older housing along Mosfilmovskaya Street, so the mix of cases is characteristic: disputes with developers over handover dates and quality of flats on Michurinsky and Minskaya; disputes between owners and management companies; inheritance cases over flats that families once received from the university or the film studio; road accidents on Michurinsky Prospekt and Mosfilmovskaya; tax demands to the many small companies attracted by the district's proximity to the centre.
What we do
